Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information FlowCalc processes through the public calculators, reference pages, contact requests, accounts, and Workspace.

Short version: the calculators run on numbers you type; we do not sell personal information; accounts exist only to save your own work; security logs are minimal and short-lived. The sections below state exactly what is collected, why, and how long it is kept.

1. Who operates this site

FlowCalc (flowcalculators.com) is operated as an independent reference site. Contact for privacy matters goes through Contact the site; include "Privacy" in the subject so the request routes correctly.

2. Information you provide directly

  • Contact messages: name, email address, and message content. Used only to respond and to track the reported issue to resolution. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a corrections-driven reference.
  • Account registration: email address and password credential (stored hashed; staff cannot read it), used for sign-in, verification, and recovery. Optional profile fields, if offered, are marked optional at entry.
  • Workspace content: saved duties, assumptions, notes, and reports you choose to store. This content belongs to you, is never published or shared by the site, and is exportable and deletable by you at any time.
  • PDF/report delivery: an email address only when you ask for a report by email; used once per request to deliver the file.

3. Information processed automatically

  • Calculator execution: inputs are processed in your browser and on the server solely to produce the requested result and its substituted formula trace. Unsaved inputs are not linked to your identity and are not retained as records.
  • Security and reliability logs: request time, requested page, coarse error diagnostics, and abuse signals (rate limiting, failed sign-ins). Kept on a short rotation and used only for security monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Preferences: strictly necessary cookies for sign-in sessions, security tokens (including MFA where enabled), and display preferences. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by the site itself.
  • Future analytics or advertising: if ever enabled, this policy will first be updated to name each tool, describe its cookies and retention, and explain opt-out. No silent additions.

4. How information is used — and not used

Information operates the calculators, responds to contact, maintains accounts, prevents abuse, and keeps the service reliable. It is not sold, rented, or shared for third-party marketing. Disclosure happens only where required by law or strictly necessary to provide the requested service (e.g. hosting infrastructure storing data under confidentiality obligations). Workspace content is never used for advertising profiling.

5. Retention schedule

  • Contact messages: while the issue is open plus a reasonable quality-record period, then deleted.
  • Account and Workspace data: until you delete the content or close the account; account closure removes Workspace content within 30 days except records the law requires.
  • Security logs: short-cycle rotation, kept only as long as needed for security and diagnostics.
  • Backups: roll forward — deletions propagate to backups on their natural rotation, not instantly.

6. Your rights and choices

Request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information, object to or restrict processing, or close your account at any time via Contact the site, subject to record-keeping required by law. Workspace content can be deleted directly by you without asking. Responses within 30 days; complex requests may take longer with notice.

7. Children

A professional reference for adults and supervised trainees. Not directed at children; accounts for children are not permitted. Contact received from a child will be deleted on identification.

8. Changes to this policy

Material changes update the revision date below and, for account holders, are announced before taking effect. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
